Storageflex Releases Automated Network Compliance Solution

19th November 2004

Technology Partnership with C2C Systems Helps Companies Manage Storage and Meet Regulatory Requirements

Storageflex Inc., a leader in information storage and management, today announced its new Compliance Storage Services (CSS), a major advancement to help customers manage growing data storage complexities and new compliance regulations.

CSS consolidates all of the physical storage subsystems on a network — magnetic, optical, CD, DVD, or tape — into a single hierarchically managed resource (or integral volume) which is treated as one logical entity. The most recently used data is available on the magnetic or top tier, providing fast access for end users. Less recently used data is stored on optical disks or other archival media and is automatically and transparently moved to the magnetic disk if a user tries to access it.

“Compliance Storage Services is a major step forward in both content and storage automation,” says Paul Chan, vice president of Storageflex. “Unique features — such as Exchange mailbox management, real time backup, simultaneous support for disk, optical and tape as well as optional encryption technology — ensures customers are able to meet our ABCDE objectives: archive, backup and restore, compliance, disaster recovery and encryption. We are proud to be able to deliver such solutions in an open system manner to help customers maintain investment in existing hardware and software from other vendors.”

E-mail archiving is an application that benefits from such technology, and Storageflex has partnered with C2C Systems, a leading provider of email lifecycle management software for Microsoft Exchange, to help companies meet government, corporate and medical compliancy regulations. C2C’s Archive One Compliance handles the archiving, search and retrieval of email while Storageflex’s CSS product enables organizations to define and automatically execute storage policies. The combined product is a powerful solution that can dramatically cut the time required for compliance projects.

“The Storageflex/Archive One Combination provides a turn-key solution that combines the email archiving properties of Archive One Compliance with the data storage strengths of Storageflex,” says Jonathan Brown, vice president of C2C Systems. “Customers can get their compliance projects implemented quickly, easily and economically.”

Storageflex Inc. is delivering this integrated offering in an innovative and modular approach, available in configurations starting at US$10,000.
