C2C and Bridgehead Announce E-mail and File Archiving Integration 21st June 2005 C2C, a leading provider of email archiving software for Microsoft Exchange, has announced a technology partnership with Bridgehead Software, providers of file archiving solutions. Bridgehead’s HT FileStore has been tested and certified with C2C’s Archive One, and customers can now take advantage of an integrated archiving solution for email and other file formats such as Office documents. “E-mail archiving is a specialist area, and C2C has a proven pedigree which impressed us,” says Tony Cotterill, CEOof Bridgehead. “The parallel worlds of email and document archiving are being brought closer by user demands and we’re ready to meet the market with a competitive solution.” According to a 2005 survey by C2C’s Archive One division and Osterman Research, about 70 percent of organizations prefer an archiving solution that can store various types of electronic documents instead of just point solutions for messaging and other types of electronic content. “The solution announced by C2C and Bridgehead clearly meets a market need for an integrated archiving solution that will store a wide range of documents in addition to email,” said Michael Osterman, president of Osterman Research. C2C’s Archive One helps organisations meet the major needs for email archiving, including enforcement of e-policy, improved capacity management and regulatory compliance. Bridgehead’s HT FileStore applies policies to analyse and archive data files to secondary storage devices. Its management capabilities enable data to be archived to a choice of storage devices, which can be migrated according to lifecycle access and retention requirements of the organization. The joint solution provides: “We’re pleased to be announcing this partnership; Bridgehead’s file archiving solution complements Archive One in a competitive marketplace,” says Dave Hunt, CEO of C2C. “Many customers are considering archiving for all their data, but until now they’ve had to settle for second best in email or file management. This solution offers the cream of both technologies.”
