Active Mail Tools: MaX Compression

Mailbox User Experience

Invisibility at the client: the user experience of MaX Compression

1. Sending the email and attachment

client sent image

  • The user creates the email as usual, inserting the 1.7MB file attachment via Outlook.
  • No manual interaction with MaX Compression or any other zipping tool is needed.
  • MaX Compression automates the zipping process according to the central rule-set.
  • The attachment is compressed (zipped) as the user sends the email.

2. Receiving the email with attachment

  • The Outlook user receiving the zipped attachment sees the file with its native name, file icon and extension.
  • The only indication of zipping is the reduced file size - no .zip extension or changed file names.
  • To decompress and open the file, user just double clicks - no manual zipping or unzipping tools are needed.
