Active Mail Tools: MaX Compression
Mailbox User Experience
Invisibility at the client: the user experience of MaX Compression
1. Sending the email and attachment
- The user creates the email as usual, inserting the 1.7MB file attachment via Outlook.
- No manual interaction with MaX Compression or any other zipping tool is needed.
- MaX Compression automates the zipping process according to the central rule-set.
- The attachment is compressed (zipped) as the user sends the email.
2. Receiving the email with attachment

-
The Outlook user receiving the zipped attachment sees the file with its native name, file icon and extension.
-
The only indication of zipping is the reduced file size - no .zip extension or changed file names.
-
To decompress and open the file, user just double clicks - no manual zipping or unzipping tools are needed.
